Welcome to, travelstoryplace, my personal travelblog. I’m a Dutch based (30 something) travel writer sharing stories, tips & tricks about places I love to visit. As a storyteller, explorer, and passionate travel writer I believe that every journey has a story waiting to be told. From wandering through ancient alleyways to watching the sun set over endless landscapes, I live for the moments that make travel unforgettable and I’m here to share them with you.
Travelling can be a challenge. It’s visiting strange places, overcoming language barriers and unfamiliar cultural experiences. The fun thing is that travelling also gives you memories about the people you meet and the places you see. With my stories, both big and small about places near and far, I hope to inspire you to take on the challenge to travel and make your own memories.

The origin story
Travelstoryplace just started and is continuously growing. Though I’ve been writing short stories about my travels for a long time as I caught the travelbug early on. My love for travel, writing and reading started long before I ever packed a suitcase. As a child, I was fascinated by maps, adventure books, and stories of distant lands. That curiosity quickly turned into a passion, leading me to explore not just places but the people, cultures, and experiences that make each destination unique. Over the years, I’ve navigated bustling markets in Asia, hiked through rugged mountain trails, searched for the big 5 and gotten lost in places I never planned to visit, only to find they were exactly where I was meant to be.
But to me, travel is more than just checking destinations off a list. It’s about the connections we make, the lessons we learn, and the stories we collect along the way. It’s about sipping tea with a stranger who becomes a friend, embracing the beauty of the unknown, and discovering that the best moments often come from the unexpected.
Through my writing, I aim to bring you along on my adventures, to transport you to new places, inspire your own journeys, and remind you that the world is full of wonder waiting to be explored.
